Van der Schoot: ,,Yes, I think that idea of a gap is always important to us. Between future and origin, between the black box of the theater and the white cube of the museum. The mixture of performance and art installation that we seek out in Fremdkörper is therefore also referred to as the grey space. It is precisely the fact that this is a new environment where the codes are unclear that provides scope for active participation. The performances that we make are also play areas in which we jointly explore possibilities, with all the inconvenience but also the fun that comes with it.”
